Privacy & Cookies Policy

The OPTAPHI network is a consortium of five European third-level educational and research institutes, coordinated by the Centre for Advanced Photonics & Process Analysis (CAPPA) at Cork Institute of Technology, Bishopstown, Ireland. This privacy policy explains what personal data we collect from you when you use our website (www.optaphi.eu) and how OPTAPHI makes use of that data.

Cookies

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
In addition, to counteract malicious activity, an anonymised string created from your IP address (known as a hash) is recorded for every login attempt, and used to prevent multiple incorrect logins.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Analytics

We make use of Google Analytics, a service which transmits website traffic data to Google servers in the United States and allows us to notice trends to improve the user experience on our website. This minimal build processes personal data such as: the unique User ID set by Google Analytics, the date and time, the title of the page being viewed, the URL of the page being viewed, the URL of the page that was viewed prior to the current page, the screen resolution, the time in local timezone, the files that were clicked on and downloaded, the links clicked on to an outside domain, the type of device, and the country, region, and city.
This data is only collected if you have accepted the ‘Non-necessary cookies’ option in the cookie settings. You can turn off this option at any time by visiting the Cookie settings

If you subscribe to our mailing list, we will store you email address, name and, if provided, your affiliation, and use them to provide you with occasional updates, news and alerts about OPTAPHI and OPTAPHI-related events. When you subscribe, you will be asked to confirm your consent to receive communications from OPTAPHI. We use the MailChimp service to manage the mailing list, meaning that these details will be stored on the MailChimp servers; see their Terms of Use and Privacy Policy here: https://mailchimp.com/legal. Note that MailChimp may set their own cookies, according to their cookie policy.
Your details will not be shared or sold to any other third parties, and you can request to be removed from the mailing list at any time, either by using the link at the bottom of any of the emails, or by contacting us directly.

In order to apply for any of the ESR positions, you will need to complete the online application form and upload your CV.
